“Every Picture Tells a Story”
Purchase is one of the most important events in U.S. history. All major
newspapers and magazines covered this event. It is included in every major U.S.
history book. It is and was a very big deal.
Cameras had not been
invented at the time; so all “pictures” of this most important event were “done”
by artists. In other words, artists created the images that people saw when they
learned about the Louisiana Purchase. In fact, artists created the images YOU
saw when learning about it.
this integrated unit students learn about the art and the artists who
illustrated the Louisiana Purchase.
